immortalize your likeness in silver
I consider the wet plate collodion process a great American folk art. As a preservationist of the old ways, being a tintypist has allowed me to build a life that flows outside of the mainstream, existing in a slow, intentional current, surrounded by nature’s bounty.
Thank you for supporting my craft, which in turn supports my little family and our way of life.
an image to withstand the test of time
preserve the history of your most special life events forever in heavy metals
Tintypes are made on a sheet of tin using the wet plate collodion process. The process begins by coating a tin plate in a viscous fluid called collodion, then soaking it in a silver nitrate bath. The silver bonds to the collodion, creating a light-sensitive surface on the plate. The image is then created by exposing the plate to light.
the sun, the giver of all gifts, impresses herself upon the silver, giving eternal life to a mere moment in time
I welcome clients of all races, creeds, identities, and orientations. I respect all walks of life, no matter where you’ve been, where you’re at, or where you plan to go. Each of us has a story, and every story is important. I would be honored to share a moment in time with you and preserve a piece of your story.
